The following is the overall syllabus for UvA Talen Arabic 3, January-March 2019. This syllabus is based on the syllabus for a previous course and will be updated with current information as the course proceeds.
If you do not pass the final exam or cannot attend class on the day of the final exam, the make-up exam or resit can be taken on either 27 March or 2 April from 19:00 to 21:00 at UvA Talen, Roetersstraat 25.
Please try to miss as few classes as possible, not more than two in order to be eligible for the final exam.

During class, the children’s story تشوبي لا يريد أن يَنام was handed out. We won’t be discussing this until lesson 5, but you could start reading it now. What I said in class was wrong; we won’t be reading this in class next week, but rather in two weeks.
Do Mastering Arabic 1, Unit 17, exercise 15, which is a writing exercise. Turn it in to your instructor in class.
Look at Mastering Arabic 1, Unit 17, exercise 14 on page 241. If you do not have a paper dictionary, it may be difficult for you to do, but at least carefully read the explanation of weak verbs on page 240.
Mastering Arabic 1, Unit 18, exercise 8, which we will discuss in class. Keep preparing this unit: learn the vocabulary and read the texts.
Oops! Didn’t notice that I was supposed to hand out a supplemental reading to work through in the next lesson. So instead of that, we’ll start on Unit 19, working through exercise 3. Please start learning the names of the months to prepare for that.

Prepare the supplemental reading, described on this page. I’ll send around links to files with embedded audio in an email message, in case you weren’t in class.
